Whilst I may not drink coffee nor traditional tea, no I really have never had these drinks, I am partial to the odd herbal tea.
A good friend introduced me to Pukka Tea a few years ago. The first Pukka that I ever tried was ‘Detox’. This ‘clean fusion of organic aniseed, fennel and cardamon’ (pukkaherbs.com) sounds like a bit of an unfavourable mixture but give it a try, it is delicious.
Having never really drunk hot drinks means that I am not able to drink scolding hot drinks – I simply cannot understand how anyone can do this, although I know that many people do. For that matter I am also rubbish at holding really hot drinks! So for me a tea needs to sit and brew and cool down for about 15 mins before I can do anything with it – apart from the mug doubling up as a handy hand warmer in the winter! This also means that I brew my teas quite a bit and always leave the tea bag in the mug.
My latest favourite Pukka flavour is Elderberry & Echinacea. This is simply delicious. Not only is it packed with a great fruit flavour, but at this time of year it is perfect for an extra little boost to the immune system.
Another firm favourite is Peppermint and Liquorice. This has a slightly sweet kick to the flavour so is great for a little sweet treat when you are trying to avoid the ‘C’ stuff. The liquorice is can also give your adrenal glands a little helping hand.
