My mini adventure to Venice

My idea of clean living yes of course includes cleaner food, but it’s also about a cleaner lifestyle and that means less stress and creating more hygge moments in my life (take a look at my blog on Hygge : what it is and why you need some in your life). Last week I was lucky enough to visit the Adriatic jewel – Venice, and the trip certainly ticked my less stress and hygge boxes.

This wasn’t my first trip to Venice, but it was my first trip there with my mum. We don’t get to spend much time together, just the two of us, so this was an extra special trip.

You can read more about whether I was able to eat clean in Venice here (incase you’re wondering, yes I did ok, not perfect, but ok) but here I wanted to share a few pics of some of those special moments on my trip.

I adore water, architecture, history and photography (amongst many other things) so this location ticked so many boxes.

The santa maria della salute – my most favourite building in Venice. She’s so photogenic too!

How can you possible steer that gondola one handed on a mobile phone?

Venice’s version of Balamory – the beautiful island of Burano. Such a relaxed and laid-back island

Venice by night – just as magical but with a whole lot less tourists

More Venice by night – so few tourists

My first visit to the Venice Mercato – beautiful fruit and veg along with fresh fish

We visited the island of Torcello with it’s 11th/12th Byzantine mosaics. No pictures do these amazing sites justice. Simply stunning.

And of course, time for some chill out time

The Venetian Spritz – lots of ice, Prosecco, Aperol and soda water

On the  flip side, my feet were so sore by Friday night I could barely put one foot in front of the other. But I wouldn’t change it for a thing and I cannot wait until my next visit – albeit it will be outside of the main tourist period.
